Verbal De-escalation
Practice what to say, and when to stop talking and leave.
Talking can sometimes lower the temperature of a tense situation. It can't guarantee it, and knowing when talking is no longer the right tool matters as much as the words. This is a coached, practical class built around short spoken drills.
What we'll work on:
Recognizing when talking is realistic and when it isn't
Keeping distance and an exit while you speak
Short, clear language under stress
Offering the other person realistic options
Recognizing the point to disengage, and leaving
Who it's for:
Anyone who deals with the public, or wants to handle conflict more calmly
People who prefer non-physical training
Carriers who want more options before force is ever considered
Format:
Coached, non-physical practice, about 3 hours. Location: PSTC, 12700 SE 82nd Ave, Clackamas, OR 97015.
